10 stories about Carlton Hotel

As you may already guess from the title headline, I would like to tell you 10 short stories about my home, the Carlton Hotel St. Moritz.

I hope you enjoy reading this. Yours sincerely, Philippe Clarinval
.

Story No. 1
#Since1913

The doors of the Carlton Hotel opened for the first time in 1913. The fifth five-star hotel in the already very elegant holiday destination of St. Moritz welcomed its first guests in the Christmas period of 1913.

Story No. 2
#5StarsFromForbes

Yes, you read correctly. In 2019, we were awarded the prestigious five-star rating by Forbes Travel Guide, making us the only hotel in St. Moritz to receive this honour. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Forbes once again!

Story No. 3
#OnlySuites

Although we are the smallest five-star hotel in St. Moritz, we made the most out of the renovations carried out in 2007. The hotel now has 60 exclusive junior suites and suites that are all south-facing and thus offer breathtaking views over Lake St. Moritz and the alpine mountain landscape.

Story No. 4
#EggsEggsEggs...

Over the course of the last winter season, more than 18,000 Swiss free-range eggs were prepared in our kitchens.

Story No. 5
#LargestPenthouse

Measuring in at 386 m2, our penthouse suite is the largest suite in all of St. Moritz, offering five terraces, three bedrooms, a walk-in wardrobe, a kitchen and much more. And what is the best thing about our penthouse? The view. Our guests can enjoy a 360-degree view of the winter mountain landscape from the highest floor of the Carlton Hotel. If you are sceptical about this fact, click here to take the virtual 360° tour.

Story No. 6
#OurGuests

Over the winter season, the Carlton Hotel plays host to guests from over 60 different nations.

Story No. 7
#OurStuff

The Carlton employs 10 people permanently through the year, with staff numbers growing to around 140 employees during the winter season.

Story No. 8
#CarloCarloCarlton

The interior of the Carlton Hotel was brought to life by interior designer Carlo Rampazzi, who furnished the lobby of the world-famous Burj al Arab in Dubai in 1994.

Story No. 9
#AfternoonTea

Our British afternoon tea is served in precious blue-checked porcelain from St. Petersburg, which complements the traditionally noble character of the late-afternoon snack perfectly.

Story No. 10
#StMoritzBakes

Even bread is the result of teamwork in the Carlton Hotel. Our experienced confectioners bake the majority of the baked goods we serve themselves in the hotel. The rest are supplied by a local bakery – the Bäckerei Bad in St. Moritz.
